Newscopy: "As a souvenir from England, John Marshall (right), assistant editor of the London Evening News, brought a piece of wood that had been part of the British House of Commons before its wartime destruction, when he came to San Francisco with 49 other prominent European journalists to begin a two weeks' aerial tour of the United States aboard the American Overseas Airlines Stratocruiser Flagship 'Europe'. Above, his gift is accepted by Thomas A. Brooks, Chief Administrative Officer of the City of San Francisco, at a luncheon given by the city for the visiting newsmen yesterday (Wednesday, Sept. 7) at the Lakeside Olympic Club. Other Englishmen in the touring group are Eric W. Cheadle, general manager of Kemsley Newspapers; John W. Hallows, news editor of World Review, popular British monthly, and representative of the Hulton Press; William M. Towler, foreign editor of the London Daily Herald; Victor Weisz, well-known artist and cartoonist 'Vicky' of the News Chronical, and Alfred P. Wadsworth...." .
