Folder: S.F. Monuments-St. Francis of Assisi.
Printed on back: "One of the scale models, by Ettore de Zoro, sculptor, for the proposed two hundred foot statue of St. Francis of Assisi, to be erected on a San Francisco hill top. The plan of the sculptor, who originated the idea of this gigantic figure of St. Francis - a monument meaning to the people of San Francisco what the Statue of Liberty signifies to the people of New York - provides for a base representing a huge rugged rock. The interior of the base is designed to contain a small chapel, and a room to be used either as a miniature historical museum or as a souvenir sales room. The girdle about the Franciscan robe is designed to serve as a circular balcony or look-out from which, in every direction a magnificent panorama of the city and surrounding regions, would spread before one. The plan also provides for an elevator to convey visitors to the balcony or look-out and also to the very top of the figure.".
