Newscopy: "Final services were held for Charles Leonard Harney, famed San Francisco builder, with a requiem high mass at St. Ignatius. He died Thursday of cancer at the age of 60. And as if in keeping with the far-flung Harney projects, the services were held in a setting of painters' scaffolds, almost like a scene from his busy life. He had been a generous benefactor to his church and the altar, canopy and marble for St. Ignatius Sanctuary all had been gifts from him. Interment was at Holy Cross."
