Newscopy: "CHURCH OF THE WEEK--St. John's Presbyterian Church has been located at Arguello-blvd and Lake-st since 1905 and the present building was a gift of the late A. W. Foster, one-time president of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad. The church was organized in 1870 and was first located at Post at Post and Mason-sts. Rev. Lloyd R. Carrick, minister since 1927, reports that the church completed a $40,000 expansion program in 1950 and is currently engaged in a campaign to raise $25,000 for the modernization of the 82-year-old pipe organ."
