Newscopy: "Bad news for the City Hall's pigeons - they hope - is being concocted by Leo Moldero and Bill Phelan. They are in the process of drilling 250 holes into the granite above the column tops to install stainless steel bars. Five strands of stainless steel wire will be stretched from bar to bar. The net result - it is intended - is to deprive the pigeons of places to roost. Final phase is for the birds - they either will have to move out, or become tight rope walkers. No one as yet is willing to bet on the outcome.".
