The straight path in the center of the photo is historic 'Lovers' Lane.' Rising in the rear of the Presidio is the site of the present Fort Winfield Scott, Fort Point and the southern anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge. Across the bay, to the right, is Fort Baker named in honor of Colonel Edward Dickinson Baker (Gray Eagle), in 1897.
