Newscopy: "Less than two dozen have been sunk so far, but 430 all told will be driven for the foundation of the $20 million, 43-story Wells Fargo Bank Building. Being built by the Dillingham Corp., the structure will weigh an awesome 86,000 tons. Designers figure each piling must support 250 tons. To make sure it will, each is tested out at 500 tons. The pre-stressed concrete piles range in length from 100 to 138 feet, are 18 inches square and weigh up to two tons."
