Newscopy: "Masons Halt Traffic on Nob Hill. Several hundred Masons from California and Hawaii stopped traffic on top of a cold and windy Nob Hill yesterday (above) to watch the laying of the cornerstone of their new home, being built at California and Taylor-sts. It will be completed the latter part of next year. To be known as the Masonic Memorial Temple in honor of the California and Hawaii Masons who lost their lives fighting for the United States, the building is being erected by the Grand Lodge of California. It will have three main floors rising above California-st, with 275 feet of frontage. The cornerstone ceremonies yesterday were conducted by Edgar V. Stewart Jr., grand master of California Masons and L. Harold Anderson, deputy grand master and chairman of the ceremony. Superior Judge Wakefield Taylor of Martinez and Mayor George Christopher also participated."
