On back: "NAVY SEEKS SHIPYARD MACHINISTS - Signs appealing to machinists to register under civil service for work in San Francisco Bay Area shipyards were posted June 24 following an appeal by Admiral J. W. Greenslade, naval commandant, that machinists register. The shipyards, with defense orders totalling $500,000,000, have been struck by AFL and CIO machinists since May 10. This sign is being placed at the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Plant."
