Printed on back: "This old, stained and somewhat faded photograph of Chas. E. Hansen's National Brewery at Webster and Fulton Streets, San Francisco, came to light when the California Brewing Company plant modernization program revealed its hiding place. The building pictured, now a warehouse on the edge of the California Brewing Company's two-block square seat of operations, was erected in 1865 after Hansen's original brewery, started in 1855, proved inadequate. It traces the lineage of the company to covered wagon days.".
