Newscopy: "'People are always getting the wrong idea about my place and me,' 67-year-old William (Pops) Melander, record collector extraordinary and owner of The Record Exchange at 172 Eddy-st, said reasonably. NO CRACKPOTS PLEASED. Standing behind a scarred, crack-topped counter laden with records, his feet in a thin litter of cigaret butts, record containers, burned matches and used phonograph needles, Pops said: 'I just don't want my place cluttered up with crackpots and tourists.' His definition of a crackpot or tourist is any unfortunate who knows nothing about records."
