Newscopy: "The site of Standard of California's new wing, next to the oil firm's main offices at 225 Bush-st, is a clutter of excavating machinery, wheelbarrows, donkey engines and other gadgets as work on the structure's huge foundation continues. The raised section of the foundation in the foreground shows the 'waffle' pattern in which its top surface was poured. The rear section, fronting on Bush-st, is the same height. The center section, however, will be lower to make room for elevator pits and a basement. Workmen are excavating now for this section."
