Newscopy (1962 Oct. 13): "In 1918 , the then six-year-old Muni Railway began to get growing pains. The city was expanding in all directions and people wanted transportation across Golden Gate Park. This was the first gasoline bus used for that purpose. It's shown at Fulton st. and 10th ave. Now big powerful jobs carrying scores of persons operate along the same route. But, still standing as a reminder of the good old days is the house at the corner of the intersection."
