Newscopy: "Old No. 62", the little motorized cable car from San Francisco, had a high old time for itself in Sonora Saturday (May 11) where it was the featured attraction of the Mother Lode Round-Up parade. The cable car was manned by gaily costumed employees of the Moccasin Division of San Francisco's Hetch Hetchy Project. Also taking part in the annual Round-Up parade was 22-year-old Gale Hiett who, as 'Miss San Francisco', was one of San Francisco's three official representatives. The other two: General Manager Oral Moore of the Hetch Hetchy Project and Jack Woods, Superintendent of the Hetch Hetchy Moccasin Division. Other San Francisco units in the parade included the fast-stepping St. Mary's Chinese Girls' drum corps. Marshall 'J', famed television cowboy, was grand marshal. The mile-long parade included more than 200 units -- most them mounted -- and was view by an estimated 14,000 people who thronged Washington Street, Sonora's main stem. Many San Francisco were among the Sonora crowds......
