Newscopy: "The last O'Shaughnessy 'iron monster,' built in 1910 at the Union Iron Works for the Municipal Railway, made its final trips today. Old 39 on the L (Taraval) line is shown emerging from Twin Peaks tunnel on one of its last runs. In charge of the car were (below) Motorman Tony Marelich (left), a Muni veteran of 40 years, and Conductor Albert Flieger, with 38 years service. Like the 'iron monster,' both are retiring."
