Newscopy: "GUARD FRED CASSIDY. JAMES LUCAS. RUFUS FRANKLIN. MARSHAL VICE. A few minutes after this picture was taken today, Lucas and Franklin heard themselves called guilty of the murder of Guard Royal C. Cline at Alcatraz during their attempted prison break last August. Mr. Cassidy was one of the Alcatraz guards assigned to watching the criminals during the trial here. U. S. Marshal George Vice was in charge of them in the Federal Court room."
