Newscopy: "PROFITABLE--Pvt. J. J. Weber, one of the onlookers to the Alcatraz battle from the Municipal Fishing Pier at the foot of Van Ness-av, brought with him a 33-power telescope. Impatient bystanders watched him scanning Alcatraz, envied him, finally offered 'a dime for a look.' Pvt. Weber went into business, made himself a pocketful of small change."
