Folder: Portraits-Collins, Charles.
Newscopy: "The photograph below shows Major Charles Collins, registrar, explaining the use of the voting machine to Mrs. Louise Williams. These machines are used in all precincts of San Francisco and in many other bay region communities. Note the little handle above the name panel. To vote for a candidate, simply pull down the handle over his name. For example, if you live in the Fourth Congressional District and wish to vote for Thomas Rolph for Congress, pull down the handle directly over Rolph's name. When it comes to the propositions, you will find two handles above each title - one 'yes' and one 'no.' If you wish to vote yes on a proposition, pull the 'yes' handle."
