Newscopy (1937 May 26): "This is how one of the nearly finished cables appeared from the catwalk high over the Golden Gate. The spinning wheels moved on an overhead trolley were hauled from the anchorage by cables. Men guided wires to prevent tangles. Wires are galvanized for lasting protection against weather."
