On back: "STORM DESTROYS 1,000-FOOT SECTION OF GATE SPAN PIER--For the third time in recent months, disaster struck last night at the 1,300-foot trestle jutting out from Fort Point at the site of the Golden Gate Bridge. Nearly 1,000 feet of the trestle were swept away by the southwest gale that [crossed out] lashed the Bay District for the last two days. The huge steel supports crumpled and collapsed under the impact of wind and racing swells, leaving only the 300 [crossed out] feet nearest to shore intact. Photo shows the damaged trestle.".
