Newscopy: "Before summer is over there will be another traffic pattern change on both decks of the Bay Bridge that at first is bound to be troublesome to motorists. But with proper caution and heeding new traffic signs and at least one flashing yellow light, accidents may be avoided, the Highway Patrol and bridge engineers say. On the lower deck eastbound lane, a new on-ramp will lead from just inside the Yerba Buena Island tunnel in an almost 180-degree curve restricted to a 20-mile-an-hour pace. There will be notice of the TI off-ramp from east-bound left lanes only one full mile and one-half mile away. A flashing yellow light will mark the sharply curving off-ramp. Farther on in the tunnel, but from the right lane only, the present Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island combination off-ramp will be restricted for YBI use only. Advance signs will warn of that, too...".
