Newscopy: "In this picturesque 'shot' through the eye, so to speak of the main span of the bay bridge west of Yerba Buena Island tunnel, progress being made in building the site of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition is depicted in a manner that will be surprising to many who have not had the opportunity of closer inspection. The observatory dome effect on the island is anything but what it suggests. The lower portion of it is part of the roadway that will connect Treasure Island with the bridge roadway and the upper part is what might be termed the cleanly washed face of the hill, where the dirt has been cut away to make room for the road. Behind it, the outlines of buildings on Treasure Island give a refreshingly new idea of the strides being made toward completion of housing for the international exposition.".
