Folder: Portraits-Doelger, Henry.
Printed on back: "San Francisco: Leading citizens from all walks of life turned out at a reception at the Palace Hotel here, to honor Henry Doelger, rags to riches real estate man of this city just chosen as Man of Distinction by the Calverts Selection Board. Mr. Doelger, who made his first $300 at the age of 10 salvaging sash weights from the San Francisco fire, has built thousands of homes in this area. Doelger's photograph will appear in the Lord Calvert Whiskey ads from coast to coast. Night school educated, at 26 he bought acres of neglected dunes along the Pacific Ocean. This land increased in value nine times in the next few years. He built 12,000 homes there. Later, he constructed several 500-home villages and is now building 8,000 outstanding homes near San Francisco. George Riley, (right) Head of the Board of Equalization, congratulates Henry Doelger (left) for being chosen Man of Distinction here 9/12."
