Newscopy: "At Pier 42, where A. P. L.'s President Wilson is tied up, pickets of the Brotherhood of Marine Engineers (A. F. L.) were out in force today, picketing in retaliation for picketing of Isthmian Line ships by the C. I. O. Marine Engineers Beneficial Association. Isthmian has contracts with the B. M. E., A. P. L. has contracts with the M. E. B. A."
Newscopy: "Picketing in a jurisdictional A. F. L. - C. I. O. dispute today delayed the scheduled noon sailing of the luxury liner President Wilson and tied up ships at other piers on both sides of the Bay. Failure of the vessel's 55 sailors to cross the picket line caused American President Lines to postpone departure of the Wilson for the Orient via Los Angeles. The picketing was ordered by the A. F. L. Brotherhood of Marine Engineers in an extension of its dispute with the C. I. O. Marine Engineers Beneficial Association."
