Newscopy: "'LOCKOUT'--Michelangelo playground at 1055 Greenwich-st was closed June 19, when the Recreation and Park Commission decided the bulging wall of the old recreation building made the playground unsafe. The commission notified the owners of the property, the Board of Education, that the commission would no longer operate the playground. Photo at the left is an aerial view, taken from an apartment building on Leavenworth-st, near Greenwich-st. The octagon cement bench is in a huge sandpile used by toddlers and small children. In the center, children of the neighborhood and one mother complain because of the 'lockout.' At the right, the arrow points to the North Beach Playground, across Columbus-av."
