SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.: Less than 12 hours after two policemen were shot when they attempted to investigate the home of Phil Batlin, general manager of a drug store firm, where gunmen were holding two families as hostage while they planned to steal money and narcotics from two stores operated by Batlin's firm, police obtained confessions and identification. Here Batlin (back to camera, right) points out for Capt. James English the gunmen involved: Numbers 1, 2 and 4 in the lineup, Clifford Hall, Louis Fortier and his brother, Chester Fortier. Others picked up and held for questioning are (left to right) Betty Lamarr, Thelma Fortier, Joseph B. Patterson and Vivian Burr.
