Written on back: "Oakland Naval Supply Depot firemen demonstrate the new jet propelled creeper which is launched from a fireboat and is used in fighting fires underneath docks and between rows of piles. The creeper has a nozzle connected with a line of hose and a tiller to which two guide ropes are attached, making it maneuverable in any direction desired by the fireman handling the tiller. This creeper is used as part of the equipment of a new fireboat recently received by the Oakland Naval Supply Depot to help safeguard their waterfront area."
