Folder: S.F. Ships-Ferryboats
Newscopy: "Starting at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow you can DRIVE your car between San Rafael and Richmond. The $68,000,000 new bridge between the cities was dedicated today. The span is the world's second longest high level bridge--21,343 feet--second only to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. This latest structure to span the bay will provide two 36-foot roadways--three 12-foot lanes on the present deck and the same provision on the lower deck to be completed in one year. Ariel photo upper left (Copyright, 1956, by Clyde Sunderland, Oakland) looks toward San Rafael on the Marin County shore. Photo above, taken from the new bridge, showes ferries making last runs between Richmond and San Rafael."
Written on back: "Ships. Ferries: S.F. Bay. Bridges. Richmond: San Rafael. California. Marin County. Bridges. San Rafael Richmond. Photo slowing thru massive steel gardens - on one of last runs of ferryboat."
