Folder: S.F. Ships-Ferryboats-Alameda
Newscopy: "DECKS OF THE FERRYBOATS once swarmed with commuters and train passengers as the busy boats shuttled across the Bay. With the opening of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in 1939, scenes such as this -- with upper and lower decks of the "Alameda" crowded to the rails -- became only a memory as the commuters took to the bridge trains and the passenger decks of boats became almost empty. (Southern Pacific Photo N-499)."
Written on back: "S.F. Ships. Ferryboats. Alameda. F. Ships: Ferryboats."
