Newscopy: "Golden Gate Ferry System's new $3 million terminal is shown here behind San Francisco's historic Ferry Building. At dockside is one of the ferry system's three water-jet-propelled ferry boats, which each carry 750 passengers across San Francisco Bay to Larkspur in Marin County. Construction of the terminal, which is built on a huge concrete pad over BART's transbay tube, was begun in early 1977. The U.S. Urban Mass Transportation Administration funded $2.4 million for the facility, and the reminder was provided from Golden Gate Bridge District reserves."
