Newscopy: "NEW VICTORY SHIPS READIED FOR SEA - With the last of the old-style Liberty ships built by California Shipbuilding Corp., already at sea, the outfitting docks (above) at the Los Angeles Yards now are filled with the new and faster Victory ships. On Maritime Day, May 22, the yard will be presented the Gold Wreath Award by the Maritime Commission, signifying completing of 22 ships on each of its ways."
