Folder: S.F. Wars-World War II-Street signs
Newscopy: "HEROIC NEIGHBOR--A stone's throw from his home, here is the Gold Star marker erected at Eighteenth and Sanchez streets in honor of Sergeant Donald B. Gray, U.S.M.C., killed in action on Guadalcanal. This was one of the first four markers dedicated on Memorial Day after their erection was suggested editorally by Call-Bulletin. Four newspaper lads, less than as a generation younger than Gray, observe sign with reverent awe."
Written on back: "Memorials. San Francisco hero street sign marker."
