This building has been fireproofed throughout by the Western Expanded Metal and Fire Proofing Co. all the floors, partitions, and ceilings being of Expanded Metals. In[...]ilding, the long span, or System No.2, bei[...]on's suspension arch patent, has been used; [...] being from 16 feet to 22 feet. The floors [...] inches in thickness, cinder concrete mixture [...]portions of 1 cement, 3 sand and 5 cinder, and have [h]old all the tests required by the Architects. Altogether, about 70,000 feet of Expanded Metal floors, and 25,000 yards of Expanded Metal partitions were placed in this building. Messrs. Shea & Shea, who are the architects for the Municipality of San Francisco, were the first architects to adopt this system on the Pacific Coast, and so satisfactory was the work in this building, that general attention has been attracted to it by architects, engineers and buil[ders] on the Pacific Coast, resulting in several orders from other [archi]tects and builders for the installation of this same system in [...] buildings, which have been completed and which are now i[...]urse of construction."
