Newscopy in second copy: "Hundreds of items from dolls to dollies and shotguns to [...]-guns were sold today in the unclaimed merchandise auction at the Postoffice. Black nylon stocking (large size) brought $3, a cow hobbde, $1.50, and a shotgun, $25. When three little girls tried to buy three dolls for 25c, Postmaster McCarthy closed the bidding in a hurry and dug into his own pocket. Many of the thousands shown in the picture brought their lunches. The sale continues tomorrow."
