Newscopy: "Down comes one of the eight Italian marble fireplaces in the Postoffice Building at Seventh and Mission sts. Here wrecker Charles Rose starts work on an old witness room in connection with a modernization program that will provide two new courtrooms in the 46-year-old building. In addition to the removal of the marble fireplaces, mohogany panels and interior decorations of hand set colored glass will come down also. Seventeen rooms on the second floor will be affected by the $263,900 modernization job being done by Barrett & Hilp. Work shoud be completed in eight months to a year."
