Folder: S.F. Protests and Picketing-1964.
Newscopy: "Agreement on hiring policies for racial minorities was reached this afternoon between San Francisco's motor car dealers and civil rights groups as an army of 1,000 pickets paraded peacefully on Van Ness Avenue's Auto Row. The pact, achieved in secret negotiations in a downtown office as the picket line was building up toward another possible sit-in demonstration, was hailed by Dr. Thomas N. Burbridge, president of the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. A squad of policemen threads its way through a crowd of demonstrators."
