Newscopy: "Both San Francisco State College and University of California student newspapers deplored the demonstration at the Sheraton-Palace Hotel. The Gater, S.F. State newspaper, condemned the action in an editorial which stated the paper is not opposed to civil disobedience 'if it is the last resort open' but went on: 'The Gater is opposed to the abuse of this right and the type of mass hysteria and emotional imbalance created by the Ad Hoc Committee.'
