Written on back: "BABY SALE BARES 11 YEAR POSE OF WOMAN AS A MAN--Chicago: Mildred Allen, 29, who successfully posed as a man for 11 years, with the vocabulary of a truck driver, a deep bass voice, and having a 3-A draft card, was caught by police when they investigated the sale of a baby to her and her 'wife'. The couple were using the name of 'Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Vernon', and conducted a photographic studio at time of arrest. A police matron is shown with the masquerader in police station.
