Donor description: Helen Keller and her aid (Ms. Thomson) with the donor who is playing the koto for a reception before Helen Keller went to Japan. Donor remembers meeting her and Keller would put her hand on the strings and feel the vibration. Her hand in the air indicated the pitch she felt (hi or low). About 1937 or 1938.
