Newscopy on envelope: "Against a skyscraper background, the Fountain of the Four Season is turned on for the first time today. The City's Fountain of the Four Seasons was turned on today. The first major work of art to grace San Francisco's Golden Gateway apartment complex sent streams of water skyward. Created by Francois Stahly, the famous French sculptor, the fountain is in what will become the Gateway's central park, bounded by Jackson, Pacific, Davis and Front Streets. Stahly's design was selected from 112 entries. He built the fountain and surrounding garden with stones from Italy. It's topped by four vertical elements of sculptured bronze from which the water flows down, passing over the stones, into a tidal pool. The fountain's $50,000 price tag was paid by the Perini Corp., developers of the $70 million Gateway."
