Newscopy: "Crowds thronged Maiden Lane for the second consecutive day as the two-block-long thoroughfare off Union Square welcomed visitors to its annual 'Spring Comes to Maiden Lane' festival. Daffodils decorated shops, walls, windows, and even hung from trees. Garlands of gold foil were strung overhead, and strolling singers and warbling birds added to the holiday festivities. The Maiden Lane Association opened the three-day fiesta yesterday afternoon by crowing two queens. Mayor Elmer E. Robinson was main speaker."
