Folder: CA. Civilian Conservation Corps. Newscopy: "In addition to auto mechanics, another defense training course is in operation at the Lompoc Twin Camps, where approximately 350 CCC enrollees are stationed. This second course is carpentry, and 16 students, under Instructor Malcolm D. Lane, are constructing a portable camp consisting of four buildings for a spike camp. The buildings include a mess hall, barracks, office building and officers' quarters. There is little difference between the construction of these buildings and those used by the regular army because both are constructed from similar Army Quartermaster plans. Claud Marcus, left, and Richard Hayes are shown building floor sections for the buildings. Photo by Los Angeles District CCC News-Courier."
