Newscopy: "PIGEON PROOF?--After years of unsuccessful efforts to shoo the pigeons from City Hall, the Crane Chemical Co. has come up with what it believes is the answer. In the first photo, operators use Fire Department ladder to treat City Hall front with the firm's patented substance - a gooey mixture that pigeons don't like but that doesn't harm them. Inset of fingers shows thickness of mixture. Center photo, Al Best and Johnny Carollo apply the substance, and last picture shows Joe Williams squeezing it out of a caulking gun. The treatment job was started on Saturday morning. But no one is sure when the pigeons will leave."
