Folder: S.F. Districts-Hunters Point-Shipyards-1940's. Newscopy: "The 2 1/2-million-dollar crane at San Francisco Naval Shipyard, largest on earth, made another first today when it lifted 630 tons of concrete, steel and lead, biggest heave-ho ever devised by man. The test, part of a month-long check on the crane's performance, was made at 125 per cent normal capacity. Extra pig iron, lead and steel was loaded on regular concrete testing slabs weighing 450 long tons to bring the total weight to 630 tons." Negative #10529
