Newscopy: "Wrecking crews, stymied in their first attempts to demolish the last building in Western Addition Redevelopment Area No. 1, went back to work today. The structure is the three-story apartment building alongside St. Mark's Lutheran Church, at O'Farrell and Franklin sts. Workmen of the K. T. K. Wreckers reported steel cables with which they tried to pull the building down snapped repeatedly in the first attempt...".
