Newscopy: "GOODBYE TO EMBARCADERO CONGESTION--Improvement of Pier 30-32 will clear up truck congestion on the Embarcadero. The slip between the two pier sheds, where ships formally docked, has been filled in with a broad paved area where trucks can maneuver easily and cargo can be assembled for loading. Ships can also dock on the outer edge of the pier. Though the dock's ship capacity has been reduced from six to five vessels, cargo unloading and loading will be faster because trucks and railroad cars can be handled more efficiently. No more long truck line-ups on the Embarcadero."
