Newscopy: "Do-it-yourself wreckers began tearing down a famous old San Francisco mansion today. Antique dealers and decorators by the dozen began traipsing through the old Louis Bloch home above the Presidio wall, at Cherry and Jackson Streets. They feasted their eyes on glorious walnut, Venetian glass chandeliers, carved marble fireplaces, leaded bottle glass in doors. They paid their money and then - gently, tenderly - began removing the bits of beauty for fresh careers in new homes...".
