Folder: S.F. Islands-Angel-1940's. Newscopy: "ARMY'S FAREWELL--At a formal retreat ceremony at noon yesterday, the Port of Embarkation said farewell to Angel Island. Inactivated by the Army several months ago, historic Fort McDowell, on the island, will be turned over to Army engineers for maintenance until disposition of the island is decided on.
