On back: "In the never ending battle to protect the lives of patients, Franklin Hospital has opened the Bay Area's first fully equipped surgical recovery room. Located near the surgery the four-bed room permits patients to recover from their anaesthetics under the supervision of a trained anaesthetist who has access to all types of emergency equipment and can quickly re-admit the patient to surgery should that prove necessary. Mrs. Cecelia Davis (right) Franklin Hospital anaesthetist, and student nurse, Jane Van Eppuen, demonstrate some of the equipment available to patients in the new room."
