Newscopy: "Vincent Hallinan and James M. MacInnis, former legal partners, and Mrs. Louise Haller, notary public, will be arraigned July 17 on tax conspiracy charges. They were indicted Thursday by the Grand Jury. Mr. Hallinan showed up in vacation togs to surrender and post $2500 bail. Mr. MacInnis posted similar bail and Mrs. Haller $500. "Unless they stack the jury," said Mr Hallinan, "they can't get a conviction." CONSOLIDATE CASES--The Government is expected to attempt consolidating their cases with that of six others previously indicted. All are accused of conspiring to aid Paul Steffens, a narcotics racketeer, to evade payment of $20,000 he owed the Government in income taxes. Mr. Hallinan said mortgages which figured in the case were "predated through an inadvertence," adding: "If the Government can convict them it can convict me, although I was not in the office when the acts took place..."
